يتوجه رئيس الحكومة اللبنانية نواف سلام غداً (السبت) إلى العاصمة السورية دمشق في زيارة رسمية تستغرق ساعات، يرافقه وفد وزاري واقتصادي رفيع للقاء الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع، حيث تتصدر أجندة المحادثات ملفات أمنية واقتصادية شائكة.

وتأتي الزيارة في وقت حساس لبحث ضبط الحدود المشتركة ومواجهة التحديات الأمنية، خصوصا بعد كشف السلطات السورية أنفاقا عسكرية وخلايا مرتبطة بحزب الله داخل أراضيها، مما يفرض مصلحة متبادلة لتعزيز التواجد العسكري ومنع التهريب بجميع أشكاله، لاسيما السلاح.

ويسعى الجانبان لتأمين المعابر الرسمية التي تشكل شرياناً حيوياً للأفراد والبضائع، ومنها العريضة والدبوسية وتلكلخ وجوسيه، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على «معبر المصنع» الرئيسي.

وبالتوازي مع الملف الأمني، يطرح سلام ملف استجرار الطاقة المتعثر سابقاً بسبب العقوبات التي كانت مفروضة إبان النظام السوري السابق، حيث تبرز رغبة جادة في تتويج المباحثات باتفاق ثلاثي يجمع لبنان وسورية والأردن لتأمين احتياجات لبنان الكهربائية.

ويشمل جدول الأعمال متابعة ملف السجناء السوريين في لبنان، حيث استندت العملية رسمياً إلى اتفاقية التعاون القضائي الموقعة في فبراير 2026 لتخفيف اكتظاظ السجون، بعدما جرى تسليم الدفعة الأولى في 17 مارس الماضي والتي شملت نحو 137 سجيناً من أصحاب الأحكام المبرمة.

وفي موازاة ذلك، ستطرح خلال اللقاءات مسألة الاتفاقيات الثنائية القديمة بين البلدين، مع توجه لإعادة درس عدد منها وتحديثها بما يتلاءم مع المرحلة السياسية الجديدة والتبدلات التي شهدتها سورية خلال السنوات الأخيرة.

The Lebanese Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, will head to the Syrian capital, Damascus, tomorrow (Saturday) for an official visit lasting several hours, accompanied by a high-level ministerial and economic delegation to meet with Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara, where the agenda of discussions will focus on complex security and economic issues.

The visit comes at a sensitive time to discuss controlling the shared borders and addressing security challenges, especially after Syrian authorities revealed military tunnels and cells linked to Hezbollah within its territory, which imposes a mutual interest in enhancing military presence and preventing smuggling in all its forms, particularly weapons.

Both sides are seeking to secure the official crossings that serve as vital arteries for individuals and goods, including Al-Arida, Al-Dabousiya, Talkalakh, and Jousiyeh, with a particular focus on the main "Masnaa Crossing."

In parallel with the security file, Salam will raise the issue of energy procurement, which has previously stalled due to sanctions imposed during the previous Syrian regime, as there is a serious desire to culminate the discussions in a tripartite agreement involving Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan to secure Lebanon's electricity needs.

The agenda includes following up on the issue of Syrian prisoners in Lebanon, as the process is officially based on the judicial cooperation agreement signed in February 2026 to alleviate prison overcrowding, after the first batch was handed over on March 17, which included about 137 prisoners with finalized sentences.

Alongside this, the meetings will address the matter of old bilateral agreements between the two countries, with an intention to revisit and update several of them to align with the new political phase and the changes that Syria has witnessed in recent years.
