كشف وزير السياحة أحمد الخطيب، للمرة الأولى، أرقام أداء القطاع السياحي في عام 2025.
وأوضح أن السعودية سجلت أعلى إنفاق سياحي في تاريخها بأكثر من 300 مليار ريال، مقارنة بنحو 282 مليار ريال في العام السابق.
وأفاد أن عدد السياح الداخليين والخارجيين بلغ 122 مليون سائح، ارتفاعاً من 116 مليوناً، بينهم نحو 30 مليون سائح أجنبي، ما يضع السعودية ضمن أهم 10 دول في العالم في قطاع السياحة.
وأشار الخطيب، في مقابلة مع «العربية Business» من دافوس، أن مشاركة السعودية في المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي تأتي في إطار علاقة إستراتيجية ممتدة منذ عقود، مؤكداً أن حضور المملكة في دافوس يعكس مكانتها كأحد اقتصادات مجموعة العشرين، وأكبر اقتصاد يشهد تحولاً هيكلياً عميقاً في العالم في ظل رؤية السعودية 2030.
وقال الخطيب: «المملكة تشارك بفاعلية في جلسات المنتدى واللقاءات الثنائية، كما أن المنتدى عقد اجتماعاً ربيعياً في الرياض العام الماضي، على أن يُعقد اجتماع ربيعي جديد في جدة خلال أبريل القادم».
تحول شامل غير مسبوق
وأضاف الخطيب: «وزارة السياحة وقّعت مذكرة تعاون مع المنتدى العام الماضي، وبدأت العمل على تطوير قطاع السياحة والسفر في المملكة بالاستفادة من خبرات المنتدى»، واصفاً العلاقة بأنها طويلة الأمد ومهمة وإستراتيجية.
وذكر أن رؤية السعودية 2030 بدأت تحقق وعودها على أرض الواقع، من خلال افتتاحات متتالية في مشاريع كبرى مثل البحر الأحمر، والقدية، والدرعية، إلى جانب توسع مشاريع القطاع الخاص في المطارات والطيران، بما في ذلك «طيران الرياض».
وأكد أن ما يشهده قطاع السياحة يمثل تحولاً شاملاً وغير مسبوق، وأن معدلات النمو في السياحة السعودية تُعد الأعلى بين دول مجموعة العشرين.
مؤشر لقياس جودة الحياة
وبين أن نمو السياحة يرتبط بشكل مباشر بتطور قطاع الطيران والبنية التحتية، لافتاً إلى توسع الربط الجوي مع المملكة عبر شركات عالمية، وإلى مشاريع مطارات كبرى، من بينها مطار الملك سلمان، الذي يدعم استضافة «إكسبو 2030» وكأس العالم 2034.
وأعلن الخطيب قرب إطلاق «مؤشر جودة الحياة» من دافوس، وهو أول مؤشر عالمي لقياس جودة الحياة في المدن، بالتنسيق مع جهة أمريكية، ويعتمد على معايير تشمل البنية التحتية والخدمات ومستوى المعيشة؛ بهدف تعزيز التنافس بين المدن عالمياً.
Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb revealed, for the first time, the performance figures of the tourism sector in 2025.
He explained that Saudi Arabia recorded the highest tourism spending in its history, exceeding 300 billion riyals, compared to about 282 billion riyals in the previous year.
He stated that the number of domestic and international tourists reached 122 million, up from 116 million, including about 30 million foreign tourists, placing Saudi Arabia among the top 10 countries in the world in the tourism sector.
Al-Khateeb pointed out, in an interview with "Al Arabiya Business" from Davos, that Saudi Arabia's participation in the World Economic Forum comes within the framework of a strategic relationship that has lasted for decades, affirming that the Kingdom's presence in Davos reflects its status as one of the G20 economies and the largest economy undergoing profound structural transformation in the world under Saudi Vision 2030.
He said: "The Kingdom actively participates in the forum sessions and bilateral meetings, and the forum held a spring meeting in Riyadh last year, with a new spring meeting scheduled to take place in Jeddah next April."
Unprecedented Comprehensive Transformation
Al-Khateeb added: "The Ministry of Tourism signed a cooperation memorandum with the forum last year and began working on developing the tourism and travel sector in the Kingdom by benefiting from the forum's expertise," describing the relationship as long-term, important, and strategic.
He mentioned that Saudi Vision 2030 is beginning to deliver on its promises in reality, through consecutive openings in major projects such as the Red Sea, Qiddiya, and Diriyah, alongside the expansion of private sector projects in airports and aviation, including "Riyadh Air."
He confirmed that what the tourism sector is witnessing represents a comprehensive and unprecedented transformation, and that the growth rates in Saudi tourism are among the highest in the G20 countries.
Quality of Life Index
He indicated that the growth of tourism is directly linked to the development of the aviation sector and infrastructure, noting the expansion of air connectivity with the Kingdom through global companies, as well as major airport projects, including King Salman Airport, which supports hosting "Expo 2030" and the 2034 World Cup.
Al-Khateeb announced the imminent launch of the "Quality of Life Index" from Davos, which is the first global index to measure the quality of life in cities, in coordination with an American entity, and relies on criteria that include infrastructure, services, and living standards; with the aim of enhancing competition among cities globally.
