نقلت وكالة بلومبيرغ للأنباء، اليوم (السبت)، عن مصادر مطلعة، تأكيدها أن الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ‍طلبت من إيطاليا الانضمام إلى ⁠«قوة الاستقرار الدولية في غزة» كعضو مؤسس، في وقت تسعى إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب إلى تعزيز مصداقية هذه المبادرة.

وكشفت المصادر أن دبلوماسيين قدموا العرض لمكتب رئيسة الوزراء جورجا ميلوني ووزارة الخارجية الإيطالية في مباحثات خاصة جرت خلال الآونة الأخيرة.

واعتبرت المصادر أن قرار الانضمام يقع الآن على عاتق ميلوني، التي لم تتخذ أي قرار بعد.

وبموجب المقترح، لن تسهم إيطاليا بقوات في «قوة الاستقرار الدولية»، وبدلاً من ذلك، سيكون التعهد السابق بتدريب قوة الشرطة المستقبلية لغزة كافياً، إذ سيأتي الإسهام الرئيسي لإيطاليا من علاقاتها الجيدة مع الدول العربية وفلسطين وإسرائيل، وفق ما أفادت المصادر المطلعة.

ورفض مكتب ميلوني ووزارة الخارجية الإيطالية التعليق على هذه الأنباء. وامتنعت المتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض تايلور روجرز عن الإفصاح عما إذا كانت الولايات المتحدة وجهت الدعوة لروما، وقالت: «ستصدر الإعلانات بشأن قوة الاستقرار الدولية قريباً».

وفي معرض رده على سؤال بشأن إيطاليا، قال مسؤول أمريكي لوكالة الأنباء الألمانية «د ب أ»: إن عدة دول مهتمة بالمشاركة في جهود السلام التي يبذلها الرئيس دونالد ترمب في غزة، وإن الولايات المتحدة تجري محادثات مع الدول الشريكة.

Bloomberg News reported today (Saturday), citing informed sources, that the United States has requested Italy to join the "International Stability Force in Gaza" as a founding member, at a time when the administration of President Donald Trump is seeking to enhance the credibility of this initiative.

Sources revealed that diplomats presented the offer to the office of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs during recent private discussions.

Sources considered that the decision to join now rests with Meloni, who has not yet made any decision.

Under the proposal, Italy will not contribute troops to the "International Stability Force"; instead, the previous commitment to train the future police force for Gaza will be sufficient, as Italy's main contribution will come from its good relations with Arab countries, Palestine, and Israel, according to informed sources.

Meloni's office and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs declined to comment on this news. White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers refrained from disclosing whether the United States had extended the invitation to Rome, stating, "Announcements regarding the International Stability Force will be made soon."

In response to a question about Italy, an American official told the German news agency DPA that several countries are interested in participating in the peace efforts being made by President Donald Trump in Gaza, and that the United States is in talks with partner countries.
