تمكنت الأجهزة الأمنية العراقية اليوم (السبت) من كشف وإلقاء القبض على تاجر مخدرات كان ينتحل صفة طبيب باطنية وجراحة ويدير عيادة وهمية يستخدمها للترويج وبيع المواد المخدرة.

وخلال المداهمة في منطقة العماري، عُثر على 160 حبة مخدرة، وميزان لقياس المواد، وإبر مستخدمة داخل العيادة المزيفة، بحسب ما أفادت به قيادة شرطة بغداد الرصافة.

وأوضح البيان الأمني أن المتهم تم ضبطه بعد أن كشف متهم آخر أثناء التحقيق نشاطه في العيادة المزيفة. ونشرت الشرطة العراقية مقطعاً مصوراً للمداهمة يظهر رجال الأمن العراقيين وهم يصادرون المواد المخدرة ويقبضون على المتهم، فيما تم إيداعه التوقيف ومباشرة التحقيق لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة.

وتنص المادة 27 من قانون المخدرات والمؤثرات العقلية العراقي على معاقبة كل من استورد أو تاجر بالمواد المخدرة أو المؤثرات العقلية بالإعدام أو السجن المؤبد، في حال مخالفة الأحكام القانونية المصرح بها.

يذكر أن العراق يشهد حملات مكثفة لضبط المخدرات، حيث يتم سنوياً اعتقال آلاف المتهمين وضبط كميات كبيرة من المواد المخدرة، في إطار جهود الأجهزة الأمنية للحد من انتشار هذه الظاهرة.

The Iraqi security forces were able today (Saturday) to uncover and arrest a drug dealer who was impersonating a physician specializing in internal medicine and surgery, and was running a fake clinic used to promote and sell narcotic substances.

During the raid in the Al-Amari area, 160 narcotic pills, a scale for measuring substances, and used syringes were found inside the fake clinic, according to the Baghdad Rusafa Police Command.

The security statement clarified that the suspect was apprehended after another suspect revealed his activities in the fake clinic during the investigation. The Iraqi police published a video clip of the raid showing Iraqi security personnel confiscating narcotic substances and arresting the suspect, who has been placed in custody and an investigation has commenced to take the necessary legal actions.

Article 27 of the Iraqi Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law stipulates the punishment of death or life imprisonment for anyone who imports or trades in narcotic substances or psychotropic substances in violation of the authorized legal provisions.

It is worth mentioning that Iraq is witnessing intensive campaigns to control narcotics, with thousands of suspects arrested annually and large quantities of narcotic substances seized, as part of the security forces' efforts to curb the spread of this phenomenon.
