أعلنت جماهير مانشستر يونايتد عن تنظيم احتجاج كبير أمام أولد ترافورد قبل مواجهة فولهام ، في واحدة من أكبر الاحتجاجات في تاريخ النادي. وجاءت الدعوة من مجموعة «1958»، التي تتوقع مشاركة أكثر من 6,000 مشجع، احتجاجًا على 21 عامًا من الإدارة المالية الفاشلة والديون المتراكمة.

وأكَّدَت الجماهير أنَّ الاحتجاج يستهدف نموذج الملكية الحالي، بما يشمل جيم راتكليف وINEOS، معتبرين أنَّ الأخير أصبح جزءاً من تآكل قيم النادي. وشدّدت المجموعة على أنَّ الوقفة ليست بسبب نتائج المباريات، بل لإرسال رسالة قوية لمالكي النادي بضرورة التغيير وتحقيق العدالة والمساءلة في أعلى هرم الإدارة.

وكان الملياردير ورجل الأعمال البريطاني السير جيم راتكليف قد أبرم في فبراير 2024 صفقة استحوذ من خلالها على 25٪؜ من أسهم نادي مانشستر يونايتد مقابل ( 1.59 مليار دولار) ومنحته هذه الصفقة فرصة السيطرة بشكل كامل على شؤون كرة القدم في النادي.

Manchester United fans have announced a major protest outside Old Trafford before the match against Fulham, in one of the largest protests in the club's history. The fans confirmed that the protest targets the current ownership model, including Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, considering that the latter has become part of the erosion of the club's values. The group emphasized that the demonstration is not due to match results, but to send a strong message to the club's owners about the need for change and to achieve justice and accountability at the highest levels of management.

Billionaire and British businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe struck a deal in February 2024, acquiring 25% of Manchester United's shares for ($1.59 billion), which granted him the opportunity to have full control over the club's football affairs.
