توقع وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو، أن ترد إيران على مذكرة التفاهم الجديدة، اليوم (الجمعة). وقال إن الولايات المتحدة تنتظر رداً من إيران على المقترح الأمريكي لإنهاء الحرب.

وأضاف في تصريحات للصحفيين من روما: «آمل أن يضعنا ذلك في عملية مفاوضات جادة، وآمل أن يكون عرضاً جاداً».

وأكد روبيو أن الضربات الأمريكية ضد إيران، أمس (الخميس)، كانت منفصلة عن عملية «الغضب الملحمي»، وأنه إذا تم إطلاق صواريخ على القوات الأمريكية «فسوف نرد». وأفاد بأن واشنطن لن تتفاوض مع حزب الله، بشأن لبنان، وإنها تركز على الحكومة اللبنانية.

فيما أعلنت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية أنه يوجد حالياً أكثر من 70 ناقلة تمنعها القوات الأمريكية من دخول الموانئ الإيرانية أو مغادرتها.

وأضافت أن القدرة الاستيعابية لهذه السفن التجارية تبلغ أكثر من 166 مليون برميل من النفط الإيراني، تقدر قيمتها بأكثر من 13 مليار دولار.

من جانبه، قال وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي: في كل مرة يُطرح فيها حل دبلوماسي «تقدم أمريكا على مغامرة عسكرية متهورة»، في إشارة إلى الاشتباكات الأخيرة في مضيق هرمز.

وأضاف في منشور على منصة «إكس»، أنه «في كل مرة يكون فيها حل دبلوماسي مطروحاً على الطاولة، تختار الولايات المتحدة مغامرة عسكرية متهورة. وتساءل: هل هي مجرد وسيلة ضغط ؟ أم نتيجة لجهة عرقلة تدفع نحو مستنقع جديد؟».

واعتبر عراقجي أنه أياً تكن الأسباب، فالنتيجة واحدة: الإيرانيون لا يرضخون للضغوط أبداً، وفق قوله.

واعتبر وزير الخارجية، أن تقديرات وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الأمريكية بأن مخزون إيران من الصواريخ وقدرتها على الإطلاق تبلغ 75% مقارنة بمستويات قبل الحرب، خاطئة. وقال في منشور إن الرقم الصحيح هو 120%.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio predicted that Iran would respond to the new memorandum of understanding today (Friday). He stated that the United States is awaiting a response from Iran regarding the American proposal to end the war.

He added in remarks to reporters from Rome: "I hope this puts us in a serious negotiation process, and I hope it is a serious offer."

Rubio confirmed that the American strikes against Iran yesterday (Thursday) were separate from the "Epic Fury" operation, and that if missiles are launched at American forces, "we will respond." He stated that Washington will not negotiate with Hezbollah regarding Lebanon and that it is focusing on the Lebanese government.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Central Command announced that there are currently more than 70 tankers being prevented by U.S. forces from entering or leaving Iranian ports.

It added that the capacity of these commercial ships exceeds 166 million barrels of Iranian oil, valued at more than $13 billion.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that every time a diplomatic solution is proposed, "the U.S. embarks on a reckless military adventure," referring to the recent clashes in the Strait of Hormuz.

He added in a post on the "X" platform that "every time a diplomatic solution is on the table, the United States chooses a reckless military adventure." He questioned: "Is it just a means of pressure? Or is it a result of an obstructive party pushing towards a new quagmire?"

Araghchi considered that whatever the reasons, the result is the same: Iranians never yield to pressure, according to him.

The Foreign Minister deemed the CIA's estimates that Iran's missile stockpile and launch capability are at 75% compared to pre-war levels to be incorrect. He stated in a post that the correct figure is 120%.
