أعلنت وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية اليوم (الخميس) عن محادثات جديدة بين لبنان وإسرائيل في واشنطن الأسبوع القادم.

وقال مسؤول في الخارجية الأمريكية: جولة المحادثات الجديدة بين لبنان واسرائيل، ستنعقد يومي 14 و15 مايو (الخميس والجمعة) القادمين، موضحاً أنها ستعقد برعاية من الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وسيديرها وزير الخارجية ماركو روبيو.

أجندة المحادثات القادمة

واستضافت واشنطن جولتي محادثات بين وفدين من البلدين، برعاية أمريكية، الشهر الماضي.

وأفادت مصادر لبنانية أن جولة المحادثات المرتقبة، ستركز على خفض التصعيد الإسرائيلي وتثبيت وقف إطلاق النار للانتقال كخطوات لإثبات حسن النية وصولاً إلى عقد جولات مفاوضات.

وأشارت المصادر إلى أن المفاوضات ستكون على مستوى الوفود، ستتناول المسارين الأمني والسياسي لمعالجة قضايا الانسحاب الكامل والحدود والأسرى والنازحين وإعادة الإعمار، مبيناً أن الرئاسة اللبنانية تسعى لبحث اتفاق وقف نهائي للأعمال العدائية بين لبنان وإسرائيل.

وذكرت المصادر أن الرئاسة اللبنانية أبلغت واشنطن أن اللقاء الآن مع نتنياهو قد يؤدي إلى إجهاض مساعي الاستقرار، مبيناً أن هناك تفهماً أمريكياً للموقف اللبناني من عدم عقد لقاء بين عون ونتنياهو في الوقت الراهن.

اغتيال قيادات من حزب الله

وأفادت المصادر أن الدولة اللبنانية حريصة على تنفيذ قرار حصر السلاح وإنهاء المظاهر المسلحة، لكن الأمر يحتاج وقتاَ ويقتضي معالجات سياسية واجتماعية واقتصادية.

في المقابل، أعلن الجيش الإسرائيلي اليوم، اغتيال قائد وحدة «قوة الرضوان» التابعة لـ«حزب الله» أحمد غالب بلوط، في الغارة التي استهدفت الضاحية الجنوبية لبيروت مساء أمس، مؤكداً اغيتال قياديين آخرين في الحزب إلى جانبه وهو ما لم يؤكده حزب الله حتى اللحظة.

وقال البيان الإسرائيلي إن بلوط شغل على مدار سنوات عدة مناصب داخل وحدة قوة الرضوان، بينها قائد العمليات في الوحدة، وكان مسؤولاً عن جاهزية الوحدة واستعدادها للقتال، بالإضافة إلى ترميم قدراتها وقاد خلال الحرب، عشرات العمليات ضد القوات الإسرائيلية في جنوب لبنان، شملت إطلاق صواريخ مضادة للدروع وتفعيل عبوات ناسفة.

وتُعد قوة الرضوان وحدة نخبة تابعة لـ«حزب الله»، وتُصنف باعتبارها أبرز قوة خاصة داخل البنية العسكرية للحزب، إذ تتولى تنفيذ العمليات المعقدة والهجمات البرية وعمليات التسلل خلف الخطوط الإسرائيلية.

The U.S. State Department announced today (Thursday) new talks between Lebanon and Israel in Washington next week.

A U.S. State Department official stated that the new round of talks between Lebanon and Israel will take place on May 14 and 15 (Thursday and Friday), clarifying that it will be held under the auspices of the United States and will be managed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Agenda for the Upcoming Talks

Washington hosted two rounds of talks between delegations from both countries, under American sponsorship, last month.

Lebanese sources reported that the anticipated round of talks will focus on reducing Israeli escalation and solidifying the ceasefire as steps to demonstrate good faith leading to further negotiation rounds.

The sources indicated that the negotiations will be at the delegation level and will address the security and political tracks to tackle issues of complete withdrawal, borders, prisoners, displaced persons, and reconstruction, noting that the Lebanese presidency seeks to discuss an agreement for a final cessation of hostilities between Lebanon and Israel.

The sources mentioned that the Lebanese presidency informed Washington that a meeting with Netanyahu at this time could undermine stability efforts, indicating that there is an American understanding of the Lebanese position regarding not holding a meeting between Aoun and Netanyahu at the present time.

Assassination of Hezbollah Leaders

The sources reported that the Lebanese state is keen on implementing the decision to restrict arms and end armed manifestations, but this requires time and necessitates political, social, and economic solutions.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced today the assassination of Ahmad Ghaleb Balout, commander of the "Radwan Force" unit affiliated with "Hezbollah," in the airstrike that targeted the southern suburb of Beirut last night, confirming the assassination of other leaders in the party alongside him, which Hezbollah has not yet confirmed.

The Israeli statement indicated that Balout held several positions within the Radwan Force unit over the years, including operations commander, and was responsible for the unit's readiness and combat preparedness, in addition to restoring its capabilities. He led dozens of operations against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon during the war, including launching anti-tank missiles and activating explosive devices.

The Radwan Force is considered an elite unit of "Hezbollah" and is classified as the most prominent special force within the party's military structure, responsible for executing complex operations, ground attacks, and infiltration operations behind Israeli lines.
