حققت المملكة العربية السعودية إنجازًا إعلاميًا جديدًا بفوزها بعضوية اللجنة التنفيذية للاتحاد الدولي للصحفيين، وذلك عبر انتخاب رئيس هيئة الصحفيين السعوديين عضوان الأحمري، ممثلًا للمملكة في اللجنة التي ستقود أعمال الاتحاد خلال السنوات الأربع القادمة.
وجاء هذا الفوز بعد منافسة دولية قوية شاركت فيها أكثر من 148 دولة، لم يتمكن من الفوز بعضوية اللجنة التنفيذية سوى 16 دولة فقط، ما يعكس حجم الثقة الدولية المتنامية في المملكة ومكانتها المؤثرة في قطاع الإعلام والصحافة.
آفاق أوسع
ويعزز هذا الإنجاز حضور السعودية داخل المؤسسات الإعلامية الدولية، ويفتح آفاقًا أوسع للمشاركة في صياغة القرارات المرتبطة بمهنة الصحافة عالميًا، إضافة إلى نقل التجربة الإعلامية السعودية إلى المنصات الدولية.
وأكد الأحمري أن هذا الفوز يمثل ثقة النقابات المهنية الدولية بما تقدمه هيئة الصحفيين السعوديين منذ تأسيسها قبل أكثر من 22 عامًا، مشيرًا إلى أن الإنجاز يأتي ثمرة لعمل مجلس الإدارة والأمانة العامة، ومؤكدًا استمرار الجهود لتعزيز الحضور الدولي بما يليق بمكانة المملكة.
وشاركت الهيئة في أعمال كونغرس الصحافة الدولي الذي استضافته العاصمة الفرنسية باريس، بوفد ترأسه الأحمري وضم أعضاء مجلس الإدارة لمى الشثري، ومي الشريف، وحامد الشهري.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved a new media milestone by winning a seat on the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Journalists, through the election of the President of the Saudi Journalists Association, Awdah Al-Ahmari, as the Kingdom's representative on the committee that will lead the federation's work over the next four years.
This victory came after strong international competition involving more than 148 countries, with only 16 countries able to win a seat on the Executive Committee, reflecting the growing international confidence in the Kingdom and its influential position in the media and journalism sector.
Broader Horizons
This achievement enhances Saudi Arabia's presence within international media institutions and opens broader horizons for participation in shaping decisions related to the journalism profession globally, in addition to transferring the Saudi media experience to international platforms.
Al-Ahmari confirmed that this victory represents the trust of international professional unions in what the Saudi Journalists Association has provided since its establishment over 22 years ago, noting that the achievement is the result of the efforts of the Board of Directors and the General Secretariat, and affirming the continuation of efforts to enhance international presence in a manner befitting the Kingdom's status.
The association participated in the International Press Congress hosted by the French capital, Paris, with a delegation headed by Al-Ahmari and included Board members Lama Al-Shathri, Mai Al-Sharif, and Hamid Al-Shahri.
