في إطار الجهود الكبيرة التي تقودها السعودية لحماية مصالح الشعب اليمني وتطبيع الحياة العامة وتعزيز التنمية والاستقرار في البلاد التي عصفت بها الحرب، أتلف مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام في اليمن، اليوم (الأربعاء)، 6011 لغماً وذخائر غير منفجرة من مخلفات الحرب، في منطقة باب المندب بمحافظة تعز، غرب اليمن.

تفاصيل عملية الإتلاف

ونفذ عملية الإتلاف فريق المهمات الخاصة الثاني التابع للمشروع، والتي شملت 139 قذيفة متنوعة، و3200 صمام تفجير متنوع، و2536 طلقة نارية متنوعة، و36 لغماً مضاداً للأفراد، و58 لغماً مضاداً للدبابات، و8 قنابل يدوية، و9 صواريخ متنوعة، و7 عبوات ناسفة، و18 سهم قذائف.

وأكد قائد فريق المهمات الخاصة االمهندس أديب رجب أن الفريق يتعامل على مدار الساعة مع البلاغات والمناشدات الواردة من المواطنين والسلطات المحلية، بهدف تفادي مخاطر مخلفات الحرب والعبوات الناسفة المنتشرة في بعض المناطق، وتأمينها والتخلص منها لاحقاً ضمن عمليات الإتلاف الدورية التي ينفذها المشروع.

جهود جبارة لنزع الألغام

تأتي عملية إتلاف الألغام ومخلفات الحرب في إطار الجهود المتواصلة التي يبذلها مشروع مسام لتطهير الأراضي اليمنية من الألغام والعبوات الناسفة ومخلفات الحرب التي تهدد حياة المدنيين، حيث نجح منذ انطلاقة المشروع وحتى الأول من مايو من إنتزاع 558.016 لغماً وذخيرة غير منفجرة وعبوة ناسفة، منها 9246 لغماً وذخيرة غير منفجرة وعبوة ناسفة في مديرية ميدي بمحافظة حجة وحدها، كما نزع الأسبوع الماضي وحده 928 ذخيرة غير منفجرة و 78 لغمًا مضادًا للدبابات.

وتمكن المشروع من تطهير 79,505,382 مترًا مربعًا من الأراضي اليمنية كانت مزروعة بالألغام، منها 1,510,792 مترًا مربعًا خلال شهر إبريل الماضي.

حماية الأبرياء في اليمن

ويواصل مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام في اليمن، جهوده الإنسانية في عدد من المحافظات اليمنية المحررة، من خلال إزالة الألغام ومخلفات الحرب والتعامل مع البلاغات الطارئة، بما يسهم في حماية أرواح المدنيين وتأمين المناطق المتضررة، فضلاً عن عملية التوعية في المدارس والمناطق النائية للأطفال والنساء عبر عدد من الفرق التثقيفية.

As part of the extensive efforts led by Saudi Arabia to protect the interests of the Yemeni people, normalize public life, and enhance development and stability in the war-torn country, the "Masam" project for demining in Yemen today (Wednesday) destroyed 6,011 landmines and unexploded ordnance from the remnants of war in the Bab al-Mandab area of Taiz Governorate, western Yemen.

Details of the Destruction Operation

The destruction operation was carried out by the second special tasks team of the project, which included 139 assorted shells, 3,200 assorted detonators, 2,536 assorted live rounds, 36 anti-personnel mines, 58 anti-tank mines, 8 hand grenades, 9 assorted rockets, 7 explosive devices, and 18 shell arrows.

The leader of the special tasks team, Engineer Adeeb Rajab, confirmed that the team is working around the clock to respond to reports and appeals from citizens and local authorities, aiming to avoid the dangers posed by remnants of war and explosive devices scattered in some areas, securing them, and disposing of them later as part of the periodic destruction operations carried out by the project.

Remarkable Efforts in Demining

The destruction of mines and remnants of war comes as part of the ongoing efforts made by the Masam project to clear Yemeni lands from mines, explosive devices, and remnants of war that threaten civilian lives. Since the project's inception until May 1, it has successfully removed 558,016 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices, including 9,246 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices in the Midi district of Hajjah Governorate alone. Last week, it removed 928 unexploded ordnance and 78 anti-tank mines.

The project has managed to clear 79,505,382 square meters of Yemeni land that were planted with mines, including 1,510,792 square meters during the past month of April.

The "Masam" project for demining in Yemen continues its humanitarian efforts in several liberated Yemeni governorates by removing mines and remnants of war and responding to emergency reports, contributing to the protection of civilian lives and securing affected areas, in addition to awareness-raising activities in schools and remote areas for children and women through various educational teams.
