كيف أصبح التسوق رحلة أخيرة؟
دقائق قليلة كانت كفيلة بأن يغرق المجمع التجاري في دخان خانق، وسط صراخ المحاصرين الذين وجدوا أنفسهم محبوسين داخل «فخ» من لهب. وواجهت فرق الإطفاء التي استنفرت بكامل قوتها صعوبات بالغة في السيطرة على الحريق الذي انتشر بسرعة قياسية في الطوابق المزدحمة بالبضائع والمواطنين.
وأكد محافظ مدينة شهريار سجاد برنجي أن الحصيلة النهائية للفاجعة بلغت 11 وفاة، بالإضافة إلى 41 مصاباً نُقلوا إلى المستشفيات، بعضهم لا يزال في حالة حرجة تحت الرعاية الطبية المكثفة، مما يرفع احتمالية ارتفاع أعداد الضحايا.
وخلف الأنقاض المتفحمة، بدأت السلطات القضائية تحركاً عاجلاً لكشف المستور. وتم توقيف مالك المجمع التجاري فوراً ووضعه قيد التحقيق، في خطوة تشير إلى وجود شبهات قوية حول إهمال جسيم في معايير الوقاية من الحرائق، وتساؤلات حول ما إذا كان «أرغوان» يفتقر لأبسط شروط السلامة التي تحمي حياة المتسوقين.
رغم إخماد النيران، يظل السؤال الذي يؤرق الشارع الإيراني: لماذا تحول مجمع تجاري إلى مصيدة قاتلة؟ وهل كانت أنظمة الإطفاء والإنذار تعمل؟
وفي انتظار نتائج التحقيقات، يبقى مجمع «أرغوان» شاهداً على مأساةٍ بدأت بـ «خطأ ما» وانتهت بـ 52 عائلة تذوقت مرارة الفقد والألم.
The morning of shoppers in the suburbs of Tehran today (Wednesday) turned into a scene from a horror movie nightmare, after a sudden fire engulfed the "Arghavan" commercial complex, leaving behind a bloody toll of 52 victims, both dead and injured, in a disaster that reopened discussions on safety standards in public buildings in Iran.
How did shopping become a final journey?
Just a few minutes were enough for the commercial complex to be engulfed in choking smoke, amid the screams of those trapped who found themselves ensnared in a "trap" of flames. Firefighting teams, which were mobilized in full force, faced extreme difficulties in controlling the fire that spread at a record pace through the crowded floors filled with goods and citizens.
The governor of Shahriar City, Sajjad Baranji, confirmed that the final toll of the tragedy reached 11 deaths, in addition to 41 injured individuals who were transported to hospitals, some of whom are still in critical condition under intensive medical care, raising the possibility of an increase in the number of victims.
Amid the charred debris, judicial authorities began an urgent move to uncover the truth. The owner of the commercial complex was immediately arrested and placed under investigation, in a step that indicates strong suspicions of gross negligence in fire prevention standards, and questions about whether "Arghavan" lacked the most basic safety conditions that protect the lives of shoppers.
Despite the extinguishing of the flames, the question that haunts the Iranian public remains: why did a commercial complex turn into a deadly trap? And were the fire and alarm systems operational?
While awaiting the results of the investigations, the "Arghavan" complex remains a witness to a tragedy that began with a "mistake" and ended with 52 families tasting the bitterness of loss and pain.
