قال وزير الخارجية العراقي فؤاد حسين، إنه لا ينبغي للعراق أن يتحمل بمفرده الأعباء الأمنية والمالية لملف معتقلي «داعش» الذين يتم نقلهم من سورية.

وأفادت وزارة الخارجية في بيان تلقته وكالة الأنباء العراقية (واع)، اليوم (السبت)، بأن نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الخارجية فؤاد حسين، تلقى اتصالاً هاتفياً من الممثلة العليا للشؤون الخارجية والسياسة الأمنية في الاتحاد الأوروبي، كايا كالاس.

وأضافت أنه جرى خلال الاتصال بحث العلاقات الجيدة التي تربط جمهورية العراق بالاتحاد الأوروبي، وسبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك في مختلف المجالات ذات الاهتمام المتبادل. ولفتت الوكالة إلى أن «الجانبين تبادلا وجهات النظر بشأن تطورات الأوضاع في سورية، ولا سيما التفاهمات والاتفاقات التي جرى التوصل إليها، وأسباب الاشتباكات التي شهدتها بعض المناطق».

واضافت أن الاتصال تناول ملف تنظيم داعش الإرهابي والسجون الموجودة في سورية، خصوصا هروب عدد من عناصر التنظيم من بعض السجون التي خرجت عن سيطرة قوات سورية الديمقراطية (قسد)، فضلاً عن مناقشة الوضع الأمني في منطقة الحسكة السورية، والتأكيد على ضرورة استدامة وقف إطلاق النار، ومعالجة الإشكالات القائمة بالطرق السلمية.

وأكد الجانبان، بحسب البيان، أهمية اضطلاع أوروبا بدور فاعل في دعم المباحثات بين قوات سورية الديمقراطية والحكومة السورية، بهدف التوصل إلى اتفاقات واضحة والالتزام بتنفيذها.

وحسب بيان الوزارة «جرى بحث مصير سجناء تنظيم داعش، إذ أعربت كايا كالاس عن شكرها لحكومة العراق على القبول المبدئي باستلامهم، مع تأكيد فؤاد حسين أن الأعباء الأمنية والمالية المترتبة على هذا الملف لا ينبغي أن يتحملها العراق بمفرده، وأن مسؤولية التعامل معه تقع على عاتق جميع الدول المعنية».

وفي سياق متصل، استعرض فؤاد حسين نتائج زيارته الأخيرة إلى إيران، وتبادل الجانبان وجهات النظر بشأن علاقات الاتحاد الأوروبي في ظل الأوضاع الإقليمية المتوترة والخطيرة.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein stated that Iraq should not bear alone the security and financial burdens of the file concerning the "ISIS" detainees being transferred from Syria.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) today (Saturday) that the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein received a phone call from the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.

It added that during the call, they discussed the good relations between the Republic of Iraq and the European Union, as well as ways to enhance joint cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. The agency noted that "the two sides exchanged views on the developments in Syria, particularly the understandings and agreements that have been reached, and the reasons for the clashes that occurred in some areas."

It also mentioned that the call addressed the issue of the terrorist organization ISIS and the prisons in Syria, especially the escape of several members of the organization from some prisons that have fallen out of the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in addition to discussing the security situation in the Hasakah region of Syria, and emphasizing the necessity of sustaining the ceasefire and addressing existing issues through peaceful means.

Both sides confirmed, according to the statement, the importance of Europe playing an active role in supporting the negotiations between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian government, with the aim of reaching clear agreements and committing to their implementation.

According to the ministry's statement, "the fate of ISIS prisoners was discussed, where Kaja Kallas expressed her gratitude to the Iraqi government for the preliminary acceptance of their transfer, while Fouad Hussein confirmed that the security and financial burdens resulting from this file should not be borne by Iraq alone, and that the responsibility for dealing with it lies with all concerned countries."

In a related context, Fouad Hussein reviewed the results of his recent visit to Iran, and both sides exchanged views on the European Union's relations in light of the tense and dangerous regional situations.
